NotesThis is the second of four bookplates belonging to C. Gordonsmith in this collection. This design is repeated in the remaining bookplates but with slight variations, including dating and detailing of the image. A watermark at the top left reads "olland." The ink of this plate is slightly raised. The owner in this bookplate is presumably the C. Gordonsmith of Montreal that acquired a large personal library. These books were later auctioned, and C.Gordonsmith's bookplates are now found in books dispersed in various collections. The date for this entry was chosen by the latest reference to the library catalogue of C. Gordonsmith.
