NotesThis bookplate's design is based upon one of the designs of English Victorian artist Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898), from his publication Le Morte D'Arthur. The figure featured is Guenever. Beardsley is most well known for the subversive or suggestive nature of his illustrations. Notably, his illustrations appeared in the Victorian periodical, The Yellow Book, as well as Oscar Wilde's play rendition of the tale of Salome.
