DescriptionIn black ink, this bookplate contains an escutcheon, argent (silver), charged with two dogs courant, and a chief, argent, with fox cabossed, between two hunting horns. Above, a helmet with mantling, and a crest of a lion's head erased, gorged. All set within a floral architectural border.

NotesLikely, James Maitland Hunt of Pittencrieff, Fife, born February 13, 1852 and died April 9, 1934. He was the late Commanding Colonel of the 91st Regimental District, and formerly the Commander of the 2nd Battalion of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. Within the mantling, beside the escutcheon is the creator's (artist) mark.
