NotesJohn Thomas Jeffcock was the author of "Parkin Jeffcock, Civil and Mining Engineer: A Memoir" a book about his brother who died in the Oaks mining disaster in England. It was published in 1867 in London by Bemrose and Lothian. There was also a Reverend John Thomas Jeffcock who was the Rector at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. They could both be the same person as Bemrose & Sons published works by both. Burke's Landed Gentry has an entry for Jeffcock with a similar crest featuring the three pickaxes (which relate to the family's involvement in the mining trade), the embowed arm, the ravens, and the motto: Persevere. There is no listing for John T. Jeffcock within this entry. Pencil marks in the upper left-hand corner. Marbled paper from the book cover stuck to the back.
