NotesThe Home Children (1869-1930) passenger lists from Library and Archives Canada documents that it is possible that the owner of the bookplate, J. [James] Rumsey, arrived in Canada via Québec, at the age of 18 in 1890. Rumsey came to Canada from Liverpool, [England] with other children from Barnardo Homes, which were orphanages and homes located across the United Kingdom until the 1970s. Calvary Congregational Church was organized in 1874 in Westmount, Québec (a small suburban community in Montreal) on the west side of Guy Street between St. Antoine and Dorchester. Between 1896 and 1925 the church merged with other congregations. In 1961 it merged with Westmount Park United Church, which is still around today.
