41. [Bookplate for James Hazen Hyde] [Bookplate for James Hazen Hyde] The bookplate central image is of several interwoven banners with flowers and leaves hanging from them in three cascades. The owner was an enormous Francophone who lived around the turn of the 20th century.

42. [Bookplate for J. E. Horvath by Gabriella Krisztimkovich] [Bookplate for J. E. Horvath by Gabriella Krisztimkovich] The bookplate belongs to J. Eugene Horvath who is a famous bibliographer living in Vancouver. The central image is of a Canadian mapleleaf. The left portion of the leaf has a gilt inlaid ceramic plate with a quill pen over it signifying a love of writing. The central portion of the leaf has a set of mountains signifying the Vancouver area with a camera below it signifying a love of photography. The right portion of the leaf has an image of a Hungarian King St. Ladislas The central portion of the leaf has an image of the Buda side of Budapest and shows the central castle and churches lying in relief above the Danube river. This portion of the bookplate indicates the fact that Horvath was born in Hungary and emigrated to Canada.

B.] The bookplate's central image is done in relief of a house with a walkway and trees of to the sides of the house. The house appears to be a prosperous house with two chimneys and several floors. A mountain with whitcaps sits in the background and several stars are seen above them.

44. [Bookplate for University of British Columbia] [Bookplate for University of British Columbia] Picture of letter A (perhaps taken from a children's alphabet book) with a boy behind the letter on the dexter side. The boy is wearing overalls and a hat and is standing on a patch of grass.

An image of the Lion's Gate bridge is placed below the gate and an image of the Lion's mountains is above the gate. The picture is representative of "Q" house owned in West Vancouver.

A scene portraying a bookshelf and open window (overlooking trees) is enclosed in a circular frame. Around the frame are oak and maple branches. At the bottom of the circle is a frame in which is inscribed "Colin E. Henderson." The artist's name and date are found at the bottom-centre of the bookplate.

Within an elaborate floral border is a square divided into both text and an image of a fireplace and bookshelf. At the bottom of the frame is face, below which is the artist's initials and date.

49. [Bookplate for David King by B.] [Bookplate for David King by B.] Pictorial bookplate. A floral border (in blue, red, and gold) surrounds the bookplate text. At the bottom are both the creator's initial "B" and publishing information (Ludgate Circus House, H.V. Capsey, London, E.C.4).

[Bookplate for Douglas Loney by Frits Jacobsen] [Bookplate for Douglas Loney by Frits Jacobsen] Medieval town square scene with three musicians with Medieval instruments (violin, hurdy-gurdy, and bagpipe) with shoppers and a dancer in the background. The artists' initials (FJ) are written on a building in the background and the artist's full name is in the bottom right corner.

On the shield is a black stag's head above which is an arm holding a dagger and protruding from a wreathe. At the top of the shield is an open book with buckles.

On the shield at the middle chief are two boars (i.e. courage and savagery) ; at the fess point are three shells(i.e. water, love, St. James the Apostle, pilgrimage and travel).

56. [Bookplate for Alice Ravenhill] [Bookplate for Alice Ravenhill] Heraldic bookplate executed in black ink on white paper. The bookplate consists of a simple shield above which is a ribbon with the motto: "Candide et Constanter" (fairly and firmly).

57. [Bookplate for Donald Morin d'Equilly] [Bookplate for Donald Morin d'Equilly] Quartered per cross gold shield with a horizontal and black cross with four martletts. Above the shield is a crown and below it is the motto "Fortis fidelisque simul." At the bottom of the bookplate is fleur-de-lis.

59. [Bookplate for George H. Beans] [Bookplate for George H. Beans] This is simple black and white monogram design. Within a shield-shaped border is a simple plant growing from three mounds. The text is outside the border at the top and bottom.
