[Bookseller's Tickets for Samuel Carsley] 1) In dark blue ink on white paper, the bookseller's ticket consists of a field of dark blue ink with a thin white / reserved-out border surrounding white text. 2) In gold metallic ink on red glossy paper, the bookseller's ticket consists of a simple gold border surrounding gold text. 2. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A black outlined fan shaped segway, with the larger side facing to the left contains the central image of the bookplate. The central image is of a simple blue outline of Mt. Fuji, below which is a yellow baby chick (chicken) flapping its wings on a green ground. 3. The central image contains two purple flowers with three petals on each. They are sitting among a number of stems of grass. 4. The central image is of a black tree sitting on the left with numerous green covered branches drooping downward. A blue Mt. Fuji sits in the background and numerous grey lines drawn amongst the two images suggest the presence of rain within the scene. 5. Flanking the ownership panel there are two figures holding books at each side. Hanging from the mantling on the bottom are a drum and lyre, and surrounding the top are various animals. The top of the bookplate is crowned with a globe. 7. [Bookplate for Antonii Steiner and J. E. Horvath by K. M. S.] A central panel with the ownership text is surrounded by mantling that comes out of a vase at the bottom. Flanking the ownership panel there are two figures, one holding a scale and the second one holding a stack of books. Entwined in the mantling on the top there are a lyre and a globe. The top of the bookplate is crowned with a rising sun. 8. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A fan-shaped segway contains the central image of the bookplate with the larger side facing upwards. A black background with a yellow half-moon indicate that the image is set in the night. A blue image of Mt. Fuji is set to the right side of the image. A large cloud outlines Mt. Fuji. Two green tall trees with no obvious branches sit just to the left of the centre of the image and are outlined by the clouds. 9. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A green rectangular border surrounds the central image and writing. Three Japanese Umeboshi (Sour plums) are present with the red and green ones standing upright while the yellow one sits on its side. 10. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A grey postage stamp ridge surrounds the central black outlined rectangle that contains the central image. The central image is of a brown roofed Shinto/Buddhist shrine with a blue road leading beneath twin orange pillars with a black crossbeam at the top. Two blue stone lanterns sit next to the outwards side of each pillar. The image is set on a yellow field. 11. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A hand made bookplate with a rectangular green border. An image of bamboo trees done in green is central to the picture. A brown bird is located in the lower left portion of the plate, and it is flying towards the bottom of the page. 12. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A hand made bookplate with a rectangular green border. The central image of a tropical flower (Hibiscus) presides in the picture. It is mounted in a green vase, has green leaves and a red flower with nine separate crosses in the centre. 13. [Bookplate for K. H. Ingalls by Ralph Fletcher Seymour] A portrait bookplate with a multiple black fillet border surrounding the central images used in the bookplate. The bookplate has all 12 images of the zodiac held in small circles surrounding the periphery of the central image. At the top and bottom left and right hand corners of the image are images of vines. Central to the bookplate is the image of a wicker chair held in the bottom left hand corner next to several books sitting on a reading table. The chair is facing a brick fireplace against the far wall above which are the word "BIDE-A-WHILE". In front of the fireplace is a bear skin rug. A highbacked wooden bench with three books on it sits off on the adjacent wall to the left of the image. A similar bench sits to the right of the fireplace. A clock and several other knickknacks sit on the mantelpiece above the fireplace. 14. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A ragged edge of a central image is covered in a grey coloured wash. A Japanese woman is reclining on her knees and is using a black Japanese Fan. The woman is wearing a flowered kimono and is facing to the right. 15. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A ragged edge of a central image is covered in a grey coloured wash. The central image is of a Japanese woman sitting and playing a traditional three stringed lute-type musical instrument. She is wearing a flowered Kimono and is facing to the right. 16. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A ragged edge of a central image is covered in a grey coloured wash. The central image is of a woman in a traditional flowered kimono dancing, done from a woodcut. The woman is facing to the left and her right hand, in the lower left of the picture, holds a hat. 17. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A red outline surrounds the central picture of the rock garden and reflection area in Ryoan-ji temple in Kyoto with the oil died wall in the background. Images have also been carved into the gravel. 18. [Bookplate for Jessie Hunter] A single black fillet surrounds the central image on the bookplate. Two banners sit above and below the central image of a large open book overlays a lighted oil lamp with two wicks on curved arms curling outwards from the central hub of the lamp. The lamp is sitting on the outline of a table. The images may imply that books bring awareness of the unknown. 19. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A tall gailly blue, beige, and red stripped ceremonial pole is the central image. There is a small blue and orange bag mounted a third of the way from the bottom of the pole, a black and orange ribboned head-dress to the pole and a green and yellow arc is at the bottom of the pole. The pole leans from the upper left towards the lower right position. 20. [Bookplate for David L. G. Dryden] A yellow frame surrounds the central image. The central image is of a young man in medieval armour leading a white horse to the left of the image. The image is in a forest setting with several trees observable. Two notable trees are standing, one on the left, and one on the right side of the man providing a frame for the image.
