[Bookplate for Donald Morin d'Equilly] Quartered per cross gold shield with a horizontal and black cross with four martletts. Above the shield is a crown and below it is the motto "Fortis fidelisque simul." At the bottom of the bookplate is fleur-de-lis. 2. [Bookplate for George Meek] In black ink, this bookplate consists of a garter bordure, azure (blue) and buckled. The space within the circular frame is divided quarterly, with a label, argent (silver), at the fess point. The first quadrant, gules (red), is charged with three stirrups, two over one ; the second quadrant, or (gold), is charged with a lion, passant guardant and gules, above two bars, gemels and gules ; the third quadrant, ermine (white powdered fur with black tufts), contains two bars, gemels and gules ; and the fourth quadrant, argent, contains a bend coticed, sable, charged with three fish, hauriant (upward facing). The garter is crested by a curved wreath, topped by a lion rampant. The garter contains the Latin motto. 3. [Bookplate for John Orde] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, parted per pale. At dexter, the escutcheon is sable (black), charged with three fish, two over one, huariant. Above the fish is an escutcheon, argent (silver), with the hand of Ulster ; a dexter hand, gules (red), indicating knight status. At sinister, the escutcheon is or (gold), with a flasque gules. The flasque is charged with wild cat heads, one over one. Above the escutcheon is a straight wreath charged with a stag's head erased. The stag's neck is also charged with a band, gules and engrailed. Below the escutcheon is a banner, with Latin motto within. 4. [Bookplate by Francis Adams Sc.] In black ink. Escutcheon parted per cross. First quarter, or, a lion, gules, rampant. Second quarter, argent, an arm embowed fessways holding an axe shaped like a cross formy. Third quarter, argent, a lymphad, sails furled, on water. Fourth quarter, argent, a fish on water. Shield supporters, two horse-like beasts with short tails, combatant. Helm, a diadem topped with a lion, couped. Below the escutcheon is a banner with mantling containing the Latin motto. 5. [Bookplate for Edward Murphy] Blazon is divided per quarter and per fess. Dexter chief and sinister base show a lion rampant on argent (silver) background. Sinister chief and dexter base show a lion rampant on gules (red). Fess shows three garbs over sable (black) background. Above the blazon is a straight wreath, charged with a lion rampant leaning on a garb. The motto is on a scroll below the blazon. 6. [Bookplate for A. T. Higginson] Black ink on white paper. The crest features a knight’s armoured right arm extending from a crown. The crown is decorated with black ermines and wraps around a black top that looks like cloth. The ends of the crown do not meet, but instead extend out to a point to the right. The arm has a twisted rope with dangling ends hanging from the hand and the hand clutches a weapon that is a spear on one end and has two prongs on the other end. The shield is argent with sable dots and a sable pale. The dexter and sinister portions of the shield are surrounded by a white border marked off with a thin black line. The pale is charged with a stone castle tower with a door and three windows. The pale is also charged with two white circles, one above and one below the tower. The bottom and right hand side of the shield is shaded with black. Below the shield, a ribbon with curling ends features the motto printed in capitalized, black, sans serif font. Underneath the ribbon, the bookplate owner’s name is printed in larger, sentence case, black, Gothic font. 7. [Bookplate for Langslow] Printed in brown ink on buff paper and encompassed in a decorative border with bugle horns in each corner. Bookplate features a heraldic achievement. Escutcheon, per pale, dexter sable and sinister gules. Lion rampant at fess, with three crosses, argent. A chief, argent, charged with a torteau between two bugle horns stringed. A closed helm, mantling, and torse. Crest, a spear issues erect from the helm, pendent a bugle horn stringed. Slogan or motto above crest. Below the escutcheon, the identification of the bookplate owner between two facing lions. A monogram or initial appears at the top left of the achievement, perhaps the letters AM, and a date at the top right. 8. [Bookplate for H. F.
