[Bookplate for Ivan Glen Campbell] The central image is a portrait shaped frame with banners along the top and bottom of the frame. Between the banners and contained by the frame is the central image of an open book behind a metal lamp with a black shade shedding light onto the book and everything else in the image. In front of the lamp on the left side is an ink jar and spare nibs and on the right is an ashtray and smouldering cigarette with the smoke drifting upwards and surrounding the lamp and book from above. While the two banners have statements within them the lower one also has four maple leaves, 2 on the right, and 2 on the left. 82. [Bookplate for G. L. L. Davies] The central image is bordered from the outside moving inwards by a black frame surrounding a white frame, surrounding a black frame surrounding a white frame, surrounding a single black fillet containing the central image. The central image is of two leafless trees standing to either side of a view until a series of three hills. In the distance is a black sun rising with black and white rays coming from it towards the top of the image. The entire image is bordered by two banners at the top and bottom which are separated from the main image by a single black fillet. 83. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The picture include a black frame surrounding a festival man in a black robe holding a ceremonial pole with a symbol at the top. 84. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The picture is of a black frame surrounding a Japanese child's toy with the image of a woman with a round head and red robes. 85. [Bookplate for Henry Dunckley] There is a single rectangular filleted box surrounding the text of the bookplate. 86. [Bookplate for Lloyd E. Roscoe] This bookplate is executed in brown ink on cream paper. The image depicted in the center of the bookplate is of thirteen books above which is a shelf holding a vase with flowers and an open book. A large, open window is placed above the shelf which looks out into a peaceful garden that contains trees and a sundial. The heading on the window contains the words "Ex-Libris." Surrounding the image is a thick border in which a ribbon circles around a leafy vine. The ribbon is imprinted with the phrase "A book is like a good friend ; my friends I would forever keep." 87. [Bookplate for Baron de Hirsch Institute and Hebrew Benevolent Society] This bookplate is in two parts: One to show ownership by the library, the other to show who made the presentation of the book to the library. 1) In black ink on white or cream paper. The bookplate consists of lines for recording location information, the seal of the institute [two concentric rings with the name and dates of the institute surrounding the inner circle, which contains a Star of David surrounding some Hebrew text], and other lines for noting the number and receipt date of the book surrounding the library name. 2) In black ink on white or cream paper, the bookplate consists of a thin border surrounding black text. 88. [Bookplate for United Service Club] This bookplate's design features a royal crown above a thistle, clovers, a rose, and two surrounding branches. 89. [Bookplate for Thorleit Larson] This bookplate's design is focus on the "Ex Libris" ; the text and surrounding design is done in a style reminiscent of an illuminated manuscript. A book containing owner's name is below. 90. [Bookplate for Sir George Frederick Samuel Robinson] This heraldic bookplate consists of a crest of a stag at gaze, which is upon a small version of a coronet of duke status. Surrounding the crest in a circular orientation is a garter of azure (blue), with French motto within. Surrounding the garter is a heraldic collar, with twelve roses (surrounded by circular garters with French motto within) at regular intervals. Upon the collar is a full version of a coronet of duke status, and immediately below the collar (as a pendant) is a rendering of the biblical event of St. George slaying the dragon. 91. [Bookplate for Charles A. Dashwood] This heraldic bookplate consists of a tilted escutcheon, argent (silver), a fess, gules (red), the fess charged with three griffin heads, erased (a term which describes the cutted edge of an animal's head) ; two bars above and below the fess, also gules. Steel helmet, positioned three-quartered faced, closed (denotes an esquire rank). The crest above the helmet is a griffin head, again erased. A banner is positioned at the lower part of escutcheon with Latin motto. Surrounding the escutcheon is elaborate mantling. 92. [Bookplate for Schuyler Merritt] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, a barry of six, or (gold) and sable (black), with a bend, ermine (white powdered fur, black tufts). Above the escutcheon is a helmet in profile (denoting status of esquire and gentleman). Above the helmet is a curved wreath charged with a chained beast passant. Surrounding the escutcheon is a circular banner, with Latin motto within. The entire crest is situated in a rectangular frame filled with foliage-like mantling in the upper half and a row of books directly below the escutcheon. An open book, three open flowers, and a banner with "EX LIBRIS" are situated in the foreground in front of the volumes. 93. [Bookplate for Albert Prince by Dempsey and Carroll] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, divided per cross, with quarters one and four also divided per cross. Within quarters one and four, the sub-quarters one and four are gules (red), charged with three lions passant guardant (for England). Sub-quarter two is or (gold), with a tressure-flory-counter -flory, charged with a lion rampant (for Scotland). Subquarter three is azure (blue), charged with a harp decorated with harpy figure features, stringed (for Ireland). The entire escutcheon is charged with a bar dovetailed, or a label, a cadency mark indicating being the eldest son (during his father's lifetime). Quarters two and three have a barry of ten, or and sable (black), with a bend in the shape of a ducal crown (without the cap). Surrounding the escutcheon is a garter, with first French motto within. Above the escutcheon is a royal crown. Supporting the escutcheon at dexter is a lion guardant, charged with a label. At sinister is a unicorn rampant, also charged with a label, as well as a royal crown without the cap as a collar. Below the escutcheon is a ribbon, with second German motto within. The entire achievement is surrounded by very fine lines, giving the impression of shadow. 94. [Bookplate for E. Bibl. Radcl.] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, in the shape of a Victorian shield, argent (silver), and a bend engrailed, sable. Surrounding the escutcheon is a circular border, with embellishments within. Below the circular border is bookplate text. 95. [Bookplate for George Paget] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, parted per cross. Quarters one and four are sable (black) and charged with a cross, argent (silver), between four eagles displayed. The cross is charged with five lions passant guardant. Quarters two and three are azure (blue), with a chevron or (gold) between three lion heads, erased, two over one. Above the escutcheon is a closed esquire helmet, positioned en profile, with mantling radiating from it, surrounding theescutcheon. Above the helmet is a straight wreath, charged with a heraldic tyger, rampant. Below the escutcheon is a banner, with Latin motto within. 96. [Bookplate for Almeric Hugh Paget] This heraldic bookplate consists of an escutcheon, sable (black), charged with a cross, argent (silver), between four eagles displayed. The cross is charged with five lions passant guardant. Above the escutcheon is a capless-crown denoting baron status, and above the crown is a peer helmet, positioned three-quarters, with mantling radiation from it and surrounding the escutcheon. Above the helmet is a straight wreath, charged with a heraldic tyger, rampant. At dexter and sinister are two men, each holding a flag charged with a cross patee. Below the escutcheon is a banner, with Latin motto within. Below entire arms is another banner, with bookplate owner's name and title. 97. [Bookplate for Gladys Granger] This heraldic bookplate is a much stylized form which echoes common features of a traditional heraldic shield. The escutcheon is an oblong round shape in Chippendale style, gules (red), charged with a pomegranate. Upon the escutcheon is a crest of an arm embowed fessways, clutching three stocks of wheat or corn. Surrounding the escutcheon is an ornate border, surrounded by leaves and flowers. Below the escutcheon is a banner styled the same way as the escutcheon, with owner's name within. 98. [Bookplate for Thomas Philip Earl de Gray] This heraldic bookplate is elaborately engraved in Chippendale style. The escutcheon is counterchanged per fess, its primary quarterings (at top left and bottom right) consisting of a barry of six, argent (silver) and azure (blue). The quarter at mid-top is vert (green), divided per chevron, or (gold). The quarter is also charged with three stags statant, two over one. The top left quarter is argent (silver), with a saltier, azure. The quarter is also charged with a roundlet, argent. The bottom left quarter is a gyrony of eight pieces, or and sable (gold). The quarter at mid-bottom is argent, divided per fess, gules (red) with a fillet in the lower part, azure. The quarter is also charged with three rings, gules on both the upper and lower parts. The Chippendale escutcheon is surrounded by two detailed dragons, the dexter supporter with its tailed nowed. Above the escutcheon is a coronet of earl status, and below the shield with Latin motto within.
