[Bookplate for George J. Campbell] This bookplate consists of an escutcheon bearing the arms of the ancient Scottish family Campbell, presented as a Gyronny of eight, or (gold) and sable (black). The escutcheon is bordered in gules (red) with 7 escallopes. The escutcheon contains a canton, also Gyronny of eight, gules and ermine (white powdered fur with black tufts). The crest, atop a curved wreath, is an eagles head, erased. Over the shield is a banner containing the Latin motto. Below the shield are two oak branches tied together by a ribbon. 42. [Bookplate for A. W. Robertson] This bookplate consists of a pictorial image of men in a rowboat in the foreground with the image of a large sailboat in the background. Between the two primary images is the shape of a whale, the ocean, and three small rowboats. It is designed to replicate the style of stained glass, and is therefore divided into sections which are executed in varying colours such as blue, green, yellow, brown, and purple. Each section is delineated in black ink and is bordered in black ink. The bookplate is on white paper. 43. [Bookplate for William Craig] This bookplate consists of a gules (red) bordered escutcheon with a single bar, azure (blue), on an ermine (white powdered fur with black tufts) background. The bar is charged with three crescents. Atop the shield is a helm, and mantling which surrounds the entire shield. The helm is crested by a curved wreath and knight on horseback, with broken lance. A broken lance represents the celebration of winning a point during a jousting tournament. 44. [Bookplate for Felix Carbray] This bookplate consists of a an ornamental escutcheon, ermine (white powdered fur with black tufts), charged with a lion rampant, gules (red). The crest consists of a dexter helm, topped by a curved wreath and dexter cubit arm holding a sword. From either side of the crest extends elaborate mantling which flows down to the base of the shield where a banner is located, containing the Irish motto: "DIA A'S CEART." Translates to "God's Right" (as in His right to rule). 45. [Bookplate for Dr. Somogyi Ödön and J. E. Horvath by B. J.] This art nouveau bookplate is in black and green ink, on ivory paper. It depicts a possible intruder clothed in black creeping around a green curtain from the left side. His eyes look towards a bookcase filled with books of varying sizes, which itself is partly covered with a curtain. On the right side of the image, with his back to the bookcase, is a white clothed figure holding an automatic pistol. 46. [Bookplate for Maxwell K. Heap] There is an elaborate border on this bookplate beginning with a rolled barred fillet with fleur-de-lis at each corner. Within this border are three additional black fillets the middle one is slightly thicker with alternating black and white bars suggesting a rope like pattern. The central image is of a large book overlaying a lighted torch behind it. Birds wings sit below the book supporting it. 47. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] There are two images in this bookplate. The first is of a gourd shaped toy with a smiling Japanese woman in a Kimono painted on it. The second image is of a coiled white snake to the right of the woman. The image of the woman is on the left, and the snake is to the right. 48. [Bookplate for Arthur Coburn by L. J. R.] The image is of a man standing between two deciduous trees. The man has black hair and is wearing antique garments from the Italian Renaissance and white tights. He is also reading a large black book and has a small black leather belt and pouch. The whole image is surrounded by a double filleted black border. 49. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The image is of a brown and white stripped wooden toy boar. There are blue hooves and nose, as well as white tusks, a red mouth and ear, and white eyes. The boar is facing towards the left and the rear portion of the boar is in the right forefront. 50. [Bookplate for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce by Avis Selina Fyshe] The image border, black ink on white paper, depicts the variety of topics of children's literature included in the library: travel, myths, fairy-tales, nature, crafts, sport, pets, legend, music, adventure, history, and science. Each subject is displayed with a representative image, including, train, plane, covered-wagon, trumpeter, knight, dragon, dog, rabbit, sailing boats, people, ostrich, monkey, princess and pegasus. 51. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The classical image of a cat puppet or doll is central to the image. It has green and blue coverings with white kanji script, blue/black eyes and black patches on its forepaws. Its foreground is placed at the right and it moves backwards towards the left part of the bookplate. 52. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The central image is surrounded by a grey rectangular frame within which is a white background. The image within the rectangle is a sideways fan shaped segway onto a view of Mt. Fuji with a blue sky in the background, several grey outlined yellow and pink shapes possibly representing flowers, trees, and a pastoral setting in the foreground. The large side of the fan is facing towards the left. 53. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The central image is of three snow capped white mountains with black and grey bases. The foremost of the mountains starts at the right half of the image and moves backwards towards the left. Rapping around the image of the closest mountain near the separation between black, grey and white colours is the image of a green asian dragon with orange wings. 54. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The central image is of a white hollow horses head that might be used as part of a costume decoration for a festival day. The horse has a blue nose a beige and orange halter, a black and orange surrounded oval on its side and a blue and orange striped bridle. It is facing towards the left. 55. [Bookplate for Geoffrey Davies] The central image is of a white frame holding black rope within it connected to a central black rectangular frame in the centre of the bookplate. The bookplate has been designed to look like a picture. 56. [Bookplate for G. L. L. Davies] The central image is bordered from the outside moving inwards by a black frame surrounding a white frame, surrounding a black frame surrounding a white frame, surrounding a single black fillet containing the central image. The central image is of two leafless trees standing to either side of a view until a series of three hills. In the distance is a black sun rising with black and white rays coming from it towards the top of the image. The entire image is bordered by two banners at the top and bottom which are separated from the main image by a single black fillet. 57. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The central image is a view from overtop of a grey can sitting on a blue and white chequered background. The can has an inner and an outer ring with 8 red and green strawberries sitting at the centre of the can. 58. [Bookplate for Eiichi Hirose] The central image is a black square with an irregular stick figure done in white with orange blocks within it. Where the head should be there is a black and orange eye. 59. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The central image contains a white mouse with blue ears riding on top of a brown empty spool of thread. The spool is oriented with the rear of the spool oriented towards the left, and the front of the spool is located on the right. The front of the spool located on the right and has five blue and red holes laid out in 2 over 1 over 2 pattern. The central hole has 2 red lines radiating outwards between the four other holes. The mouse appears as though he is riding the spool. 60. [Bookplate by University of British Columbia] The bookplate has set after the initial text of, "THE LIBRARY," the following shield. A grey box holding the UBC shield inside. The shield is set in black in white with a grey chief within which a book running from sinister chief to dexter chief with the words 'Tuum est' inscribed. Below exist three wavy lines on an argent field.
