Heraldic crest is top centre. Text is surrounded by a thin black border. 63. [Bookplate for A. L. Beverly] Black ink on white paper. Text in center surrounded by border. Handwriting on the back of the bookplate. 64. [Bookplate for Carleton Place High School] A border of small round stylized flowers surrounds the bookplate text. The first line is written in a font with a small dot in the letters 'C', 'O', and 'P'. The second line is written in a more ornate font. Under this line there is a small stylized flower similar to the ones that comprise the border. Under this is the typed word 'No.' with a line that is filled in by hand with a number. 65. [Bookplate for Canada Baptist College] 66. [Bookplate for Frank John Joseph] Black ink on cream paper. The crest features a bushel of wheat tied with a ribbon around the center atop a crest-wreath. Shield is divided per chevron. The background is black and it is charged with five smaller bushels three over two. The three bushels are above the chevron and the remaining two are below. The shield is decorated with an elaborate white border. Below the shield, the motto is printed in black, capitalized, block sans serif font on a curling ribbon with decorative ends. Underneath the motto, the bookplate owner’s name is printed in black, sentence case gothic font. 67. [Bookplate for Thomas Murray Esq., University of Toronto Library, and Champlain Society] Black ink on white paper. Text is surrounded by a thin black border. There is a line of gothic, black font, below which is smaller, capitalized, sans serif font. Two thin black lines separate that text from more lines of black text, some of which is typewritten. Below one thin black lines is smaller, serif, black text. 68. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A hand made bookplate with a rectangular green border. An image of bamboo trees done in green is central to the picture. A brown bird is located in the lower left portion of the plate, and it is flying towards the bottom of the page. 69. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A hand made bookplate with a rectangular green border. The central image of a tropical flower (Hibiscus) presides in the picture. It is mounted in a green vase, has green leaves and a red flower with nine separate crosses in the centre. 70. [Bookplate for Sir Charles Cockerell] Armorial bookplate. The shield is divided in half to show the arms of both the husband and wife. The left shield, representing the husband, is divided into six sections two of which portray roosters, between which is a face surrounded by leaves. Above the top rooster is a crescent signifying the second son. The middle section is argent (silver or white) with two chevrons. The top chevron is adorned with three flowers and at the top and bottom of the chevron are three eagle heads ; the bottom chevron is adorned with three roundlets and above and below the chevron are three flowers or leaves. Between the chevrons and at the centre of the six sections is a small shield with a left hand facing palm-out. The top right corner shows two lion heads and a bend adorned with three fleur-de-lis. On the bottom left corner is a lion. The second shield shows two lions passant guardant on a black background with an or border. Above the shield is a wreathed helm facing forward with a raised visor therein signifying barony or knighthood. Above the helm is a crescent and crowned tiger head. On both sides of the shield are angelic supporters each carrying a flag staff (adorned with the sun and crescent moon) as well as palm/laurel fronds (on which birds are perched). The figures are adorned in robes decorated with fleur-de-lis and their chests are imprinted with crosses. 71. [Bookplate for Margarete Bertha Kahn] Pictorial bookplate. Adult hands are portrayed protecting and cultivating a growing plant. The image is within an oval and is surrounded by a black border. 72. [Bookplate for Robert Wilson Reford] Bookplate executed in black ink on white paper and consists of text and a simple border. 73. [Bookplate for British Columbia Department of Education] A textual bookplate with a simple segmented 3 line border. 74. On the top of the oval is depicted a swan floating on water, which is depicted directly above the name Eric L. Swanick. From each end of the name a design emerges that forms a decorative border. 76. [Bookplate for Leida Eerme and A. Lavdovsky by A. Lee] In green ink, image of four blooming flowers emerging from the ground, set on an arched background, with solid green border. 77. [Bookplate for Vancouver Medical Association] Text surrounded by a simple double border. Donor information is typewritten. 78. [Bookplate] In black ink, a circular belt/garter provides the border. Within is an elaborate argent (silver) escutcheon, and on it is a heron (or crane) atop a crown. In the heron's mouth is a snake. 79. [Bookplate for Bateman by Orlando Jewitt] This bookplate consists of an or (gold) escutcheon, on which are three etoile topped crescents, two over one. There is also an additional smaller crescent located at the precise middle chief of the escutcheon. According to heraldic symbolism, the crescent represents the second son. On top of the shield is a helmet in profile, beaver open. Atop the helmet is a curved crest wreath and another etoile topped crescent. The crest also includes a vol (set of wings), erect, and mantling which pours down the sides of the shield. Below the shield is a banner containing the Latin motto. The image and text are framed by a thin single line border. 80. [Bookplate for Joseph Bewley] This non-traditional heraldic bookplate consists of a tilted argent (silver) escutcheon with a sable (black) chevron. On the escutcheon are three bird heads, erased, two over one. Atop the shield is an unusually large helmet in profile, topped by a twig with leaves, a crest wreath, and a stag head, erased. From the helmet flows mantling. Above and below the image are banners containing the text.
