[Bookplate for I. O. Körner and J. E. Horvath by K. M. S.] A central panel with the ownership text is surrounded by mantling that comes out of a vase at the bottom. Flanking the ownership panel there are two figures holding books at each side. Hanging from the mantling on the bottom are a drum and lyre, and surrounding the top are various animals. The top of the bookplate is crowned with a globe. 2. [Bookplate for Antonii Steiner and J. E. Horvath by K. M. S.] A central panel with the ownership text is surrounded by mantling that comes out of a vase at the bottom. Flanking the ownership panel there are two figures, one holding a scale and the second one holding a stack of books. Entwined in the mantling on the top there are a lyre and a globe. The top of the bookplate is crowned with a rising sun. 3. [Bookplate] A simple border surrounds the text. On the top left is the crest of Cercle La Salle. It shows a shield divided in three: at the top is a lit oil lamp, on the bottom left are three vertical fleur-de-lis and at the bottom right is a cross over top of a crossed pen and sword. A banner over the top of the crest contains the name of the organization and one at the bottom contains the motto. Maple branches present a wreath at the bottom. 4. [Bookplate for Ecole Normale Jacques-Cartier and Joseph Denis by John Henry Walker] An insignia tops the bookplate, featuring a radiant cross and open book above a beaver and surrounded by maple leaves. Included is a banner with a motto. Below, the name of the school and a pre-formatted prize text is printed in three fonts. The class, date, name of the recipient and signature of the principal are handwritten in black ink. A border surrounds the text and insignia. The entire plate is printed in black ink. The paper includes a watermark. 5. [Bookplate for J. H. Gill] Black ink on brown paper. Decorated arch at top is inscribed with school motto. Within the arch we see the gable and roof of the school. Below this is text enclosed by decorated border. Lamb in a circle at very bottom. 6. [Bookplate for David Russell Jack] Black ink on cream paper with shiny surface. The crest features an armoured arm clutching a sword extending from a crest-wreath. Below is an esquires helm, from which extends mantling on either side. The mantling is light on top and darkens to black at the bottom. The shield is has a chevron with thin, horizontal, black lines. Above the chevron, the shield is charged with two crescent moons with the points facing upwards. Below the chevron, the shield is charged with the same arm from the crest, in this case tilted 90 degrees so that the arm is horizontal. While the crest arm holds a straight sword, the shield arm is holding a sword with a curved blade. Below the shield, the motto is printed in capitalized, black, block serif font on a curling ribbon. Underneath the motto, the bookplate owner’s name is printed in larger, black, sentence case cursive font. A second line features the date printed in smaller, thin, stylized black font. 7. [Bookplate for Ecole Modele Jacques-Cartier by John Henry Walker] Black ink on cream paper. An insignia tops the bookplate, featuring a radiant cross and open book above a beaver and surrounded by maple leaves. Included is a banner with a motto. Below, the name of the school and a pre-formatted prize text is printed in two fonts. The class, date, name of the recipient and signature of the principal are handwritten in black ink. An ornate scrolled border surrounds the text and insignia. The printer is listed at the bottom. 8. [Bookplate for Edward Feild Hebden by H. A. W.] Black ink on cream paper. Crest features a lion passant on a crest-wreath. Below the crest is a gentlemen and esquire’s helm with elaborate, ribbon-like, mantling extending out and down the entire bookplate. The shield is argent and divided quarterly. The top left corner and bottom right corner are charged in the center with 5 black diamonds. The background pattern features a repeating geometric of three dots atop an arrow with three flared out points at the bottom. The top right corner and the bottom left corner are charged with a cross patonce. Below the shield is a ribbon with a larger section foregrounded and a smaller section closer to the bottom of the bookplate. The motto is printed on that small section in capitalized, sans-serif font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed on the foregrounded section in larger capitalized serif font. Below the ribbon is small text printed in sans-serif font. 9. [Bookplate for Henry James Grasett] Black ink on cream paper. Crest features bow loaded with arrow aimed to the left. Feathers stretch outwards on either side of the base of the bow on a crest-wreath. Shield is argent and sable per saltire, divided with a sable cross. Top and bottom quarters are argent charged with a plant with round top and brush head. Feathery leaves appear at either side of the base. Top feature has two sable stylized decorations featuring roundels three over two atop three lines connected at the top that separate outwards at the bottom. Four of the same decorations are featured in the bottom quarter. Left and right quarters are sable charged with five point stars and a stylized design element similar to those in the top and bottom quarters, but thicker and in argent. The shield is surrounded by a stylized border decorated with various curls. Below the shield, the motto is written in capitalized block letters on ribbon with elaborately curled blackening ends. 10. [Bookplate for Jenkins] Black ink on cream paper. The crest features a furry lion passant reguardant standing atop a castle tower. The castle tower is above a crest-wreath. Elaborate, curling, feathery black and white mantling extends from the top of the shield and expands out along the sides. The shield is divided per pale. The left section has a white background with black dots and is charged with a black lion rampant reguardant. The right section of the shield is charged with a bird perched on a tree branch growing out of the ground. There is no background except for the branch and ground that is lighter on top and darker at the bottom. The motto is printed on a curling ribbon below the shield. There is shading on the ends of the ribbon. The motto is printed in capitalized, black, serif font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed in a more stylized, paler, capitalized, black serif font underneath the motto. 11. [Bookplate for Victor Werheimstein and J. E. Horvath] Black ink on tan paper. A female figure wearing long hooded robe reads a book on an ornate stand. The figure stands infront of a woven fence with vegetation. This image is surranded by a decorated frame with the text on a wide ribbon at the bottom. 12. [Bookplate for Heinz von der Linden and Michael B. Kunze] Black ink on tan paper. Crest of gules rooster stands on a barred helmet in profile. Shield is quartered. Upper left quarter shows four or and three sable bars. Remaining three quarters each display a crescent moon. Light mantling. Text at top and bottom. 13. [Bookplate for Mechanics-Mercatile Library by Arthur F. Mathews] Black ink on tan paper. Picture shows men working on a large, domed building. Text at bottom. 14. [Bookplate for Bessie Ruth and J. E. Horvath] Black ink on tan paper. The illustration in this bookplate is divided in to 9 parts framed with flowers and other decoration. The central section contains the text, with two columns on the top and a monogram and date at the bottom. In the remaining 8 sections putti are depicted playing a variety of musical instruments. 15. [Bookplate for Pratt Institute Free Library] Black ink on white paper. Fine border surrounds text. Partial words in pink rubber stamp ink at bottom. 16.
