61. [Bookplate for James Scott Howard] [Bookplate for James Scott Howard] Black ink on cream paper. Crest features a ship’s steering wheel with stringy foliage extending from the left and leafy foliage extending from the right atop a crest-wreath. Shield is sable and party per fess. Top section is charged with a white cross in the center with a fleur-de-lis on either side. The bottom section is charged with a white ship steering wheel that is identical to the one in the crest. The motto is printed on curling ribbon below the shield in capitalized, serif, white block font with black outline. Below the motto, the bookplate owner’s name Is printed in sentence case, black, serif font.
62. [Bookplate for Rev. Wm. Hamilton] [Bookplate for Rev. Wm. Hamilton] Black ink on pink paper. The bookplate depicts a heraldic shield placed at an angle in a nature scene. A leafy tree trunk extends up alongside the right side of the shield and leafy branches arch over the top of the bookplate to the left. At the base of the tree trunk is a globe in a stand. Two closed books are placed in front of the globe on grassy ground. There is some foliage next to the bottom left of the shield as well. Regarding the heraldry, the crest features a tree growing from a crown with leafy points and a diamond pattern on the base. The tree trunk grows through a saw like rectangle, upon which a motto is printed in capitalized, serif, block font. The tree extends upwards into a dense leafy top. The shield has sable stripes, charged with three flowers, two over one. The flowers are stylized with four elaborate petals around a round center. There are some decorative curlicue elements on the side borders of the bookplate. Curling, curving lines extend from the left side of the bookplate like mantling. A white cloth is draped over the top right corner of the shield and pools onto the ground below. At the base of the shield, another motto is printed in capitalized, black, serif font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed in curling, sentence case cursive.
63. [Bookplate for John Hamilton by Francis Adams Sc.] [Bookplate for John Hamilton by Francis Adams Sc.] Black ink on cream paper. One motto is printed on a ribbon with ends that extend to two points at the top of the bookplate. Motto is printed in capitalized, serif block letters. Below that motto is a crest featuring a leafy tree growing out of a crown. The crown’s points are rounded and leafy. The base of the crown is decorated with horizontal diamonds. The tree trunk grows through a picture frame with a saw attached to the center. The free is growing through this frame/saw object and has extensive, dense foliage. The entire crest sits atop a twisted wreath. The shield has extended points to the top left and right and the bottom curls to a point. The shield is sable and argent, divided per quarterly. The top left and bottom right sections are sable and charged with three white flowers, two over one. The flowers have distinct round centers and five individual, separate petals. The top right and bottom left section are argent and charged with a Viking-style ship with three oars, a flag pointing to the left at the front and rear of the ship, and a tall mast. The sail is rolled up on the mast in a horizontal line. Four lines extend from the sail down to the ship. There is a flag at the top of the mast, with two lines extending down to the sail. Curlicue mantling decorates the shield from the base upwards. A second motto is printed on a ribbon with two pointed ends at the base of the shield. The text is printed in capitalized, serif, black font. The name of the bookplate owner is printed below this motto in thin, sentence case, cursive font. In the bottom right corner the name of the bookplate creator is printed in small, italicized, sentence case black font.
64. [Bookplate for Edward Feild Hebden by H. A. W.] [Bookplate for Edward Feild Hebden by H. A. W.] Black ink on cream paper. Crest features a lion passant on a crest-wreath. Below the crest is a gentlemen and esquire’s helm with elaborate, ribbon-like, mantling extending out and down the entire bookplate. The shield is argent and divided quarterly. The top left corner and bottom right corner are charged in the center with 5 black diamonds. The background pattern features a repeating geometric of three dots atop an arrow with three flared out points at the bottom. The top right corner and the bottom left corner are charged with a cross patonce. Below the shield is a ribbon with a larger section foregrounded and a smaller section closer to the bottom of the bookplate. The motto is printed on that small section in capitalized, sans-serif font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed on the foregrounded section in larger capitalized serif font. Below the ribbon is small text printed in sans-serif font.
65. [Bookplate for John Jenkins D.D.] [Bookplate for John Jenkins D.D.] Black ink on white paper. The crest features a white lion passant reguardant with black spots standing on the top portion of a stone castle tower. The tower sits on a crest-wreath. The shield is divided per cross. Around the shield is a curling border with leafy adornments and spirals on the sides. The border is thicker on the left, right, and bottom portion. The border does not cover the entire shield ; there are gaps at the top left and right corners and at the center of the base. The top left and bottom right sections of the shield are identical. They have a black and white striped background and are charged with a white chevron decorated with black dots. They are also charged with three white fleur-de-lis, two over one around the chevron. The top right and bottom left sections of the shield are also identical. They have a white background with black dots and are charged with a black lion rampant reguardant. Below the shield, the motto is printed on a ribbon with leafy ends that match the shield’s decorative border. The motto is printed in capitalized, black, serif font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed underneath the motto in thin, sentence-case, black, cursive font.
66. [Bookplate for Stanley Harrod by T. Z.] [Bookplate for Stanley Harrod by T. Z.] Black ink on white paper. Image has overall appearance of watercolour. There is text printed in sans serif capitalized black font in the top left and top right corners. The bookplate background is a multihued pale gray. The image depicts a street in Bruges. A stone church is in the background, with a tall, pointed tower. A lower part of the church is visible, with upper level balconies visible. The windows are decorated at the top with crosses. To the right of that part of the building is the roof of another building, also decorated with crosses at the uppermost part of the roof. A couple other towers are visible in the distance behind these buildings. At the forefront of the image is a dark bridge/archway. Through the archway are several trees in the church yard. The arch itself has a round decorative feature in the center. The left hand side of the arch is lighter, with two round stone towers extending up. The central part of the bridge/arch and the buildings on the right hand side are in shadow. The building on the right hand side is shorter and squarer, with a window by the top of the arch and a rounded door on the ground. There is shading in front of the archway that then lightens. In the lightened portion is printed capitalized, black text in serif font. In the bottom right corner are overlapping letters, a Z and a T.
67. [Bookplate for G. P. Girdwood] [Bookplate for G. P. Girdwood] Oval-shaped circular border with legend containing a motto printed in capital block letters across the top half. Bottom half of the border has shading, decorate circles, and a decorative end. Border made to look like a ribbon, one end of which loops over the bottom of the oval. End of the ribbon has thin borders, circular decorations, and almost tapers to a point with decorative curls at the end. In the center of the oval is a demi-lion rampant guardant. In its right paw, the lion holds a tree with round foliage at the top and sprawling roots at its base. Below the image is text written in stylized sentence-case serif font.
68. [Bookplate for Hôpital Gènèral Québec] [Bookplate for Hôpital Gènèral Québec] Black ink on cream paper. Border made of thin solid lines. Inside the solid black line border is a thin dotted line border. The corners feature stylized decorations that are wing-like with circular additions on three sides. Each decoration also features a full or half-circle element facing the center of the bookplate. The name of the hospital is written in larger, capitalized, bold font, with the location being in slightly smaller font. There is a squiggled line beneath the hospital name. Below the line are three areas with dotted lines to be filled in. Names of the fields are written in italicized sentence case font. One handwritten note in the number section.
69. [Bookplate for Frank John Joseph] [Bookplate for Frank John Joseph] Black ink on cream paper. The crest features a bushel of wheat tied with a ribbon around the center atop a crest-wreath. Shield is divided per chevron. The background is black and it is charged with five smaller bushels three over two. The three bushels are above the chevron and the remaining two are below. The shield is decorated with an elaborate white border. Below the shield, the motto is printed in black, capitalized, block sans serif font on a curling ribbon with decorative ends. Underneath the motto, the bookplate owner’s name is printed in black, sentence case gothic font.
70. [Bookplate for Ralph H. Kilby] [Bookplate for Ralph H. Kilby] Black ink on white paper. The crest features a circle with a border with black outlines and horizontal black lines. Inside the border there is a crown. The crown as three leafy designs at the top and the band is decorated with different jewels. The crest sits upon a crest-wreath. The shield has a border comprised of curling sections with ornate decorations on the ends. The shield is charged at the top with three black circles with white centers ; smaller versions of the black border featured in the crest. Below the circles are three horizontal black stripes. In the center of the top stripe is a white circle with black dots. Underneath the shield, the motto is printed on a curling ribbon in capitalized, sans serif black font. The bookplate owner’s name is printed in large, cursive, sentence case black font.
71. [Bookplate for Joseph Jopling] [Bookplate for Joseph Jopling] Black ink on cream paper. Paper has some damage and discolouration. The crest features a forearm and hand holding onto a shell atop a crest-wreath. The shield is charged with white stars two over one. The stars have shading and have black spots on them. In the center of the shield between the stars is a black crescent moon facing to the left. In the inner curve of the moon is half a human face looking outward. Below the shield, the motto is printed on a curling ribbon in capitalized, black, serif font.
72. [Bookplate for George E. Longley by Francis Adams Sc.] [Bookplate for George E. Longley by Francis Adams Sc.] Black ink on white paper with cropped corners. The crest features an arm grasping a dagger. The blade of the dagger has pierced the head of a bearded man that resembles a lion head. The arm is atop a crest-wreath. The wreath sits on a flower with a round center and 5 petals. To strips extend out of the flower across the front and back of a ribbon, connecting to the top of the shield. The ribbon extends straight out with curling ends. The motto is printed on the ribbon in black, capitalized, serif font. Shield is ermine with a black bend. Bend charged with three cheetah heads. Underneath the shield, the bookplate owner’s name is printed in elaborate gothic block font. The first letter of each part of the name is outlined with a black border, while the remaining letters are printed in black. Swirling lines and dots embellish the text. Below the name, a location is printed in smaller, sentence case, black serif font. Underneath this text is another swirling line with several dots, to the right of which text is printed in capitalized block serif letters with black outlines. In the bottom left of the bookplate, the creator’s name is printed in small, black, sentence case, serif font.

The blade of the dagger has pierced the head of a bearded man that resembles a lion head. The arm is atop a crest-wreath. The wreath sits on a flower with a round center and 5 petals. 74. [Bookplate for Library of Diocesan Theological College] [Bookplate for Library of Diocesan Theological College] Black ink on white paper. There is italicized black text with a dotted line at the top of the bookplate. There is an almond shaped design with double lined black borders. The border contains capitalized black sans serif font. In the center are two shields. A white shield with an anchor partially covers a black shield. A bishop’s hat sits atop the shield. A motto is printed in the banner. Below more italicized text is printed with a dotted line. There are several lines of stylized black gothic fond, one line of sans serif capitalized black font, and then one final line of italicized text with a dotted line.
75. [Bookplate for Hopital Général d'Ottawa] [Bookplate for Hopital Général d’Ottawa] Black ink on cream paper. The bookplate features a border consisting of thick, black wavy lines with arrows on the ends of each line pointing towards the corner. Each corner has three diamonds shaped in a triangle. Inside the border, there is a circular image with a border of two interwoven black wavy lines. Inside that border is capitalized text printed in bold, black, sans serif front. In the center of the circle is a cross coming out of the ground wrapped in vines. Above and below the cross are two ribbons with mottos printed in capitalized, black, sans serif front. At the bottom of the bookplate, outside of the circular design, but inside the first border, is text printed in capitalized, black, serif font.
76. [Bookplate for Francis J. Audet] [Bookplate for Francis J. Audet] Black ink on white paper. The shield is black at the top with an open book in the center and a fleur-de-lis on either side. The main part of the shield is charged with a lion rampant. Below the lion is a branch with three give-pointed leaves. The motto is printed on a banner below the shield in capitalized, black font. Underneath the motto is cursive black font in various sizes.
