[Bookplate for Aemila Mailiake by F. M.] This pictorial bookplate (blank ink on white paper) portrays a displayed [wings expanded and legs spread] eagle with tongue protruding ; on its chest is an argent shield with "M" on it. Below the eagle is a bushel of wheat, to the right and left of which is "F" "M" [the artist's initials]. Flowers blossom from the upper right and left corners. 2. [Bookplate for George R. Maxwell] Heraldic bookplate. Two rampant stags support an argent shield. At the centre of the shield is a two-headed black eagle with its wings and legs spread and its heads turned to opposite sides. On the chest of the eagle is a square with a black X. "Reviresco" I flourish again. 3. [Bookplate for Phyllis Pearce] Executed with black ink on white paper, this bookplate depicts a swan with wings spread, as well as two small cygnets in the lower left corner. 4. [Bookplate for Lieve Van Kerkhove and Martin Jackson] In black ink, this pictorial contemporary bookplate consists of a nude female, seated in a wood boat which is too small relative to her size. The nude's knees are up, her legs spread open, and her feet and buttocks rest on the outer edges of the craft (only her left foot and left buttock are visible). Extending from inside the boat upwards into the air, and held by the nude's right hand, is a larger-than-life fountain pen. The nude's left arm descends behind her raised knee, and emerges from behind the left buttock as a hand holding the stem of a rose ; the hand and rose appearing somewhat disconnected from the rest of the body. Resting between her legs, seen as almost emerging from the pubic region, is a cat with upraised tail and paws which rest on the bow of the boat. Below the cat, on the port side of the boat is an image of a lyre. In the turbulent river which surrounds the boat, one can see additional rose blossoms floating on the surface of the water. In the background, there is an automobile crossing a stone bridge and a large stone church with steeples on the left. One can see a flock of birds flying above the church's western steeple. In the background on the right, one can see the church's cemetery. 5. [Bookplate for Robert Smart] An armorial bookplate printed in black ink on white paper. A bird displayed, wings inverted, couped with thistle in beak, with a crest wreath, argent and vert (silver and green). Beneath that is a shield, party per pale, erminois and argent. The dexter side, erminois, per chevron azure (blue) with three chess rooks, gules (red). The dexter side, argent, per fess, gules, with two diamonds, sable (black). 6. [Bookseller's Tickets for Charles-Odilon Beauchemin] 1) In orange ink on white paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of an orange and white border surrounding white text on an orange field. 2) In red-orange ink on white paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of a red-orange and white border surrounding white text on a red-orange field. 3) In black ink on green paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of a black link border surrounding black text. 4) In black ink on green paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of a black decorative border surrounding black text. 5) In black ink on yellow paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of a black border in the likeness of an open book surrounding black text on the open spread of the book. 6) In black ink on white paper, the booksellers' ticket consists of a black decorative border with maple leaves in the four corners, surrounding an oval border containing the booksellers' name, surrounding the booksellers' address on an illustration of a scroll at the center. 7) The gold metallic, embossed booksellers' ticket consists of a maple leaf surrounded by laurel branches at the center of the ticket. Text and an outer border surround the center image. 7. [Bookplate for Alfred C. Harmsworth] Black ink on cream paper. Crest features a crest-wreath with a knight’s right arm extended and bent at the elbow. The arm is armoured with a point at the elbow and circular decorations on the rest of the arm. The hand clutches a sword that has gone through a small lion’s head from the chin through to the crown. The lion has whiskers, but no mane. Below the crest, the bookplate owner’s name is written in black, sentence case, gothic font. 8. [Bookplate for Robert E. Harris by W.A. Ives] The bookplate features an ornate border surrounding a coat of arms, motto, and illustration of books and the lamp of knowledge. The coat of arms features three silver crescents on a sable field. The shield is topped with a helmet and eagle with wings spread. The ribbon below contains the motto.
