[Bookplate for Louis N. Dumouchel] Black ink on yellow paper in the shape of a rectangle with clipped corners. It features a border around the text. A number is handwritten in black ink at the top. 22. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] A grey postage stamp ridge surrounds the central black outlined rectangle that contains the central image. The central image is of a brown roofed Shinto/Buddhist shrine with a blue road leading beneath twin orange pillars with a black crossbeam at the top. Two blue stone lanterns sit next to the outwards side of each pillar. The image is set on a yellow field. 23. [Bookplate by Eiichi Hirose] The picture include a black frame surrounding a festival man in a black robe holding a ceremonial pole with a symbol at the top. 24. [Bookplate for Geoffrey Christian and Michael B. Kunze] This image portrays, in black ink, on white paper, three books, one open and two lying stacked on their sides in front of the open book. In front of the three books is a large black inkwell containing a quill. The inkwell sits upon a manuscript. The manuscript has a seal on it. The image is set on a black background, with a curved top. 25. [Bookplate for Karl Hermann and Michael B. Kunze] In black ink on white coated paper, an image of a farmer's field. A farmer strolls away from the observer spreading seed from a side-bag. In the distance is what appears to be a town and a church steeple which is framed by radiating sunlight. In the sky above is a bird, possibly a dove. To the right of the field is a road lined with narrow trees and farmhouse situated at the base of a hill, on which possibly sits a castle. In the foreground is a piece of farming equipment and foliage frames the german expression "Und Erliches fiel aut ein gutes Land". The entire image is framed by a shaded border, rounded at the top. 26. [Bookplate for Edgell Wyatt-Edgell] In black ink, this bookplate consists of an escutcheon divided quarterly, and containing an inescutcheon. The first and forth quadrants of the escutcheon are sable (black) with a fess, dancette and argent (silver), three eagles displayed, two over one and or (gold), and chief, or. The second and third quadrants are argent, with a sable chevron containing three roundlets bezant (gold), and cinque foil, two over one and gules (red). The inescutcheon is checky, or and gules, and contains a lion rampant guardant. Atop the escutcheon is a dexter helmet, closed with mantling flowing horizontally from its top. Above the mantling are two further crests. The dexter consists of a demi-lion rampant, embattled in or and sable, on a wreath, holding an inverted arrow in its dexter paw. The sinister crest consists of a demi-lion rampant on a wreath, holding the long stem of a cinque foil, gules, in both its paws. Below the escutcheon is a banner containing the Latin motto. 27. [Bookplate for Grace Svenningson] In black ink on white paper, two columns frame the sides of the bookplate, with a banner stretched behind them at the top. Thick vines are hanging from the banner, and a few are wrapped sparsely around the columns as well. There is an urn on the bottom left with some gentle hills in the background. The name is printed in red ink at the bottom of the plate. 28. [Bookplate for James M. Wishart by Leslie Victor Smith] Printed in black ink on white or cream paper, the bookplate consists of a two line border surrounding a circular design of vines and leaves with the words 'EX LIBRIS' appearing at the top. In the upper third of the design at center appears a University of Toronto Medical School coat of arts bearing a skull and crossbones. Below the coat of arm to the left appears an open book and to the right appears a three-stringed harp. The initials of the designer, Leslie Victor Smith, and the date "1940" appear at the bottom of the design. Below the design appears the name of the owner. 29. [Bookplate for Henry Young and Alice Young by Joseph Winfred Spenceley] In black ink on beige paper. In the centre, standing on the name plate, is the image of knight crusader, holding with outstretched arms a broad ribbon inscribed with the word "Credo." His Norman pointed shield hangs in front of his sword from a strap at his left hip ; the charges, untinctured, are: barry of five, in canton a leopard contournd. At either side of him rises a large acanthus-like scroll surmounted by a leopard's head ; behind him hangs an arras curtain, draped and knotted at the top. Across the base ripples a ribbon, inscribed "Ex libris Henry and Alice Young." The whole is enclosed in a narrow, formal frame. 30. [Bookplate] The bookplate is printed in navy blue ink. The name, address, telephone number and hours are printed at the top. Underneath this block of text is a line, and the remainder of the bookplate is split into two halves. The headings 'terms' 'time limit' 'renewal notice' and 'care' are printed on the left-hand side of the split, and the corresponding information is printed on the right-hand side. Underneath this block is a line, the words 'Please protect your book in wet weather' and another solid line. 31. [Bookplate for Parker] Black ink on cream paper. Within a thin, single-line border sits a lancet arch with a coat of arms at the top. Floating above the coat of arms is a Western-style miter.
