Notes | Although an annotation on the verso indicates that this bookplate originated from Leger's Pharmacy of Montreal, it seems for likely to have come from Leger's Pharmacy of Shediac, New Brunswick. This supposition is supported by the bookplate's motif, which recalls the ship featured on the flag of New Brunswick. The pharmacy, located at 368 Main Street in Shediac is now considered to be a building of historic significance. Designed by Rene Frechet of Moncton, the building was constructed in 1910 and housed the business, Acadia Drugs. The building was later owned by brothers, Raymond and George Leger, and became known as the Leger Pharmacy. References: 1) 'Canada's Historic Places.'
