NotesThe New Brunswick Legislative Library was established in 1841, formalizing the library's initial creation in 1784 with the foundation of the province. Up until 1955, the Legislative Library was also the New Brunswick Public Library ; in 1976, the Legislative Library Act dedicated the library's service to the Legislative Assembly Members. Because of this user base, the library's materials focus on public issues and government activities, particularly items relating to New Brunswick.
