Notes | Allan Holford Walker (1846-1933) was born in Barrie, Ontario. He graduated from the medical program at Queen's University in Kingston in 1867 and eventually became a specialist in gynaecology and women's health. After graduation he moved to Dundas, Ontario, where he practiced for 20 years. In 1873 he married Annie Rolph of Dundas. In 1887, Dr. Walker opened a private hospital in Hamilton devoted to the treatment of women, and in 1888, he moved his practice to Toronto where he opened Rotherham House, a private hospital located on Isabella Street.
