NotesRobert Wilson Reford (1867-1951) served as President of the Robert Reford Company (which his father established in Montreal in 1866) and was a well-known art collector and amateur photographer. Reford lived in Victoria (B.C.) between 1889 and 1891 where he worked for Mount Royal Rice Mills and pursued photography (his albums from this period are held at the Library and Archives Canada). In addition to being heavily involved in Canadian commerce Reford was also a member of a variety of associations including the Montreal Canadian Club, the Association of Canadian Clubs, and the Montreal Sailor' Institute and Shipping Federation.
