NotesThe Military Institute of Vancouver was formed in 1908 as the United Services Club, with the aim to help support the military education of the officers and to promote comaraderie and foster good relations between the officers and members. Its designation later changed to the United Services Institute. The City of Vancouver Archives has material relating to this organization dating from 1921-1975, under the title, "United Services Institute fonds" and is listed in the British Columbia Archival Union List (BCAUL) catalogue.
