Notes | According to Burke's Landed Gentry, there is a family of Kelly of Leesthorpe Hall with very similar arms to this bookplate. The crest of the Leesthorpe Hall Kellys is slightly different than the crest shown in Burke's Landed Gentry: The wreath is charged with a wolf, and the two lions are chained. Additionally, the family motto is also different by one word. References: 1) Burke, Bernard. Burke's Genealogical and Heralding History of the Landed Gentry, ed. H. Pirie-Gordon. vol. 2.
