Notes | According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire was a female organization in Canada who established in 1900 in New Brunswick to encourage British imperialism. Notably they were actively involved in both world wars and supported Canada's war efforts. Currently known as IODE, the organization has, more modernly, acted as an organization that supports those in need with educational, citizenship, and social service programs, as well as cultural and social programs. It is currently still in operation and describes itself as a women's charitable organization. References: 1) "Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire." The Canadian Encyclopedia.
