DescriptionBlack ink on yellow paper. An ornate border consists of two parts: an inner border of thick black line with rounded corners, outlined with thin black lines on each side and punctuated with evenly spaced scrolls ; an outer border of a repeated fan design with small pairs of circles between each fan. All four corners of the border have a trefoil on the inner edge and a diamond on the outer edge. Border houses the name, location, and date of the bookplate.

NotesAndrew Jack is listed as "marchand" (trader) throughout the city and district of Montreal and the province of Quebec. This identification is provided in a public notice posted in The Canada Gazette, written by J. A. Chapleau and dated December 1883. The notice that lists Jack, among other traders, is presented under the authority of the Companies Act for shares in Canada, 1877, with letters and patents issued under the Seal of the Dominion of Canada, December 3 1883.
