| Notes | The bookplate belongs to Robert Edward Harris, the 14th Chief Justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court (1918-1931). In addition, he was president of Eastern Trust Company and the Nova Scotia Steel & Coal Company. The motto, which can be found in many family crest books and other heraldic history books, is associated with the Harris line of the Arundel family.
