Notes | This stamp is on a page cut and removed from a a book entitled Purple Springs, by Canadian author, feminist, politician, and social activist Nellie McClung. Purple Springs was originally published by Thomas Allen in 1921. The manuscript note probably indicates that the book was removed from the Hudson's Bay Company's library in 1941. It is part of three pieces, the second being a section cut from the cover of the book that includes two identical stamps on the recto and the title of the book "PURPLE SPRINGS" and a round image of trees and a sunset/rise on the verso. The third piece is a full page removed from the book and includes the identical round indented stamp in the upper right hand corner of the recto. |
