Notes | A variation on the standard Macdonald family crest, this bookplate was possibly owned by James Macdonald (1819-1905), Catholic priest and educator from Prince Edward Island, or James Macdonald (1862-1923), Presbyterian minister, educator, and writer from Ontario. The Murray collection includes bookplates belong to Sir John A. Macdonald and his son Hugh Macdonald which both include a similar pattern on their crests.
