NotesThe two parts of this bookplate have been left together based on their original context and location in the Thomas Murray Collection. They have been attached together in the same way Murray affixed the bookplates into his binders. The Bell Telephone Company of Canada Educational Library existed sometime in the early to mid-twentieth century. They published a catalogue of books in 1933, and an article on special libraries in The Montreal Gazette in 1940 mentions the library, which was in the Beaver Hall Building and contained '4121 volumes, 2, 873 pamphlets and 22 periodicals' (Montreal Gazette, 21 Nov 1940, p. 6). The Bell Telephone Company of Canada existed under that name from 1879 to 1968, after which it became Bell Canada.
