NotesCentral Methodist Church opened in 1841 in the downtown area of Yorkville, Ontario, in 1841 as the Wesleyan Chapel. In 1854 it relocated to Bloor Street, at Gwynne Ave, east of Yonge Street. In 1865 it was renamed the Central Methodist Church. Church union in 1925 brought together Central Methodist and Westminster Presbyterian to form Westminster-Central United Church. In 1950 the Westminster-Central United Church merged with Old St. Andrew's United Church and became St. Andrew's United Church, still around today located at 117 Bloor Street East.
