DescriptionThis pictorial bookplate, created using brown ink on white paper, portrays Wilton House (Wilton, England) built during the 17th century and the seat of the Earl of Pembroke. It is believed that Sir Philip Sidney wrote Arcadia at Wilton House. The picture is framed with vertical columns and garlands. The creator of the bookplate is listed as [T & H / Sc. A.S.].

NotesLady Beatrice Eleanor Paget (b. 1883, d. 8 February 1973) was the daughter of Lord Alexander Victor Paget and Hon. Hester Alice Stapleton-Cotton. In 1904 she married Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke (son of Sidney Herbert, 14th Earl of Pembroke and Beatrix Louisa Lambton). In 1919 Beatrice Eleanor Paget was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) and held the office of Mayor of Wilton (England) from 1942 - 1946 and in 1954.
